Worthing Water Sports are a Worthing-based company who are expanding - they're growing well, they have quite a following online and they are slowly becoming more and more of a hub of useful information and product reviews. This is something that Sam, the owner, is deliberately pushing forwards with, helping them become that trustworthy place for people to get information – and to spend time on his website, at the end of the day. There are products he wants to sell as well, of course…

Hope Hive, lovingly curated by Rebecca, is more than just a daycare nursery; it's a nurturing haven for children and families. Our multi-video brand and community building project with Hope Hive was a one-day shoot that aimed to showcase the diverse range of services they offer while preserving the approachability, fun, and safety that defines this unique day center in West Worthing….

On this shoot, I was reminded of how instrumental a videographer and, perhaps more specifically, an editor can be in terms of selling a product and creating a narrative. Dance tells a story by itself, of course, but with this latest project by Entasi, the narrative wasn’t linear – here, the choreography was modular, more like chapters. Chapters from comparable but contrasting stories, sometimes! And when you’re creating a one minute video of the entire thing… where do you start?

It’s been a year of stepping up, stepping out, and occasionally stepping away (to recharge by a campfire). Here’s a round-up of the highs, the lessons, and the moments that made this year so memorable for mike b designs.

Luke Brown, a long standing great friend, who also serves as the rehearsal director for the 2024-25 season, brought an electrifying energy to the studio, and his support was instrumental throughout the day. His ability to bring out the best in the dancers made my role that much easier—and more inspiring. Plus we had an amazing time, who said work had to be a slog?!

Live entertainment is an art in itself, and showcasing it through video requires more than just technical skill – it demands empathy, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the performers’ and audience’s needs. (As the night progresses, it can also include first aid and running away from stampeding 'mega fans' – but fortunately, not on this occasion.)
